Island Personal Chefs was born from the journey of Xylina Green, who discovered her passion while serving as a Master at Arms in the Navy Reserves. In 2018, during a deployment in Kabul, Afghanistan, Xylina found herself at a crossroads, realizing she wanted to bring her talents and love for food back home. Returning to Amelia Island, she drew inspiration from her childhood memories of watching her Grandma Catherine create soulful Caribbean and southern dishes that brought family and friends together.
Those early experiences, combined with years of culinary training from The Art Institute of Atlanta, laid the foundation for Xylina’s mission: to deliver meals rooted in love and hope. Her journey from military service to running her own catering business speaks to her resilience, dedication, and the deep personal connection she brings to every dish. Island Personal Chefs embodies not just her culinary expertise, but a legacy of family, tradition, and community.
